Digital Camera and Required Picture Rules
A digital camera will be used to capture the proof of your big fish catch.  All participants can use their own digital camera.

Digital Camera Requirements
  • 5 megapixels or better.
  • Pictures must be emailed to the judges.  If using a smart phone, you may text message your photos to the judges.
*Required Pictures
1) Fish must be on the provided measuring board, with the size clearly visible.
2) Scout holding the fish, with the body of water where the fish was taken, seen in the background.

Both pictures are required in order for the catch to be judged.  We recommend that you get assistance to take these photos.
Judging
  • Scouts with a catch (14" or longer) worthy of judging need to email their photos to be reviewed and approved.  The judge will review the images and note the length of the fish.  The fish will be measured to the 1/4" by rounding up if necessary.
  • The judge has the final say on all results.
  • Scouts need to have their results returned to the judges prior to the deadline of the competition, August 31, 2013.
  • The results of the competition will be announced by September 7, 2013.  Anglers do not need to be present to win.
  • Thirty (30) scouts will be chosen to proceed to phase two of the fishing tournament.
  • Tie Breaker Rules:  If there is a tie, the judges will consider the following factors to break the tie: girth, maturity, color, and visible health of the fish.  If the judges can’t successfully break a tie, the award will be divided amongst the fisherman in the tie.
Phase Two Competition Rules will be sent to those that are chosen as the winners of phase one.
